BASIC FUNCTION:
Perform complex analyses on samples containing calcium carbonate, adjacent minerals, and innovation products using established and experimental laboratory methods. Use advanced analytical and area specific instrumentation as well as industry specific processing methods. Responsible for logging in samples, entering data, and reporting data.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform advanced and non-routine product analysis using a variety of analytical techniques (e.g. particle size analysis, rheometers, spectroscopy, etc.)
- Perform maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of instruments used to perform the tests.
- Adapt existing laboratory equipment and/or conditions to meet the specific experimental objective.
- Record test results in computer-based data retention system.
- Log new samples into computer-based laboratory management system.
- Other duties as assigned, may include travel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering or Chemistry. Previous experience in laboratory setting is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity to operate various tests on basic and complex lab equipment is essential.
Excellent computer and software skills in word processing and excel spreadsheet applications.
Good organization and communication skills.
Must possess current US employment authorization, sponsorship not available for this position.
