Omya is a market leader in mineral fillers and coatings for the paper industry. We also provide water treatment products and technical support for the full water cycle in the papermaking process.

Our products offer safe, cost-effective alternatives to caustic soda or magnesium hydroxide for pulp bleaching, pH adjustment and wastewater treatment.

These industries all produce wastewater streams that are low in pH and contain dissolved heavy metals.

Omya provides products that neutralize acid and remove various compounds and heavy metals through precipitation. We also enable high purity gypsum recovery.

Omya provides mineral solutions for the mineralization or remineralization of soft or desalinated water.

Our products are also used for pH adjustment, alkalinity addition and decarbonization, as well as buffering during the treatment process to ensure optimal conditions. 

Omya’s technologies are effective for overburden buffering, acidic waste neutralization, and better valorization of by-products such as gypsum.

Our products are used in mining operations, production of concentrates and in metal refining and processing. This includes remediation activities linked to lake and river liming impacted by pollution from old mining activities.
